Hi everyone! This post is just to let you know that I haven't forgotten you or [livejournal.com profile] foreman_fest. The community is undergoing some management changes at the moment, but more info on another round of the fest will be coming to you from [livejournal.com profile] earlwyn in a few weeks. Hopefully by then we'll have some more new episodes to liven things up. Thanks everyone -- we appreciate your patience!

Hi everyone! Since the holiday season will soon be upon us, which means lots of fic exchange fests to keep everyone busy, Foreman Fest will be on hiatus until the beginning of the new year.

If you have outstanding claims from the last round, you may post those stories sometime between now and then. Closer to "now" would be nice. :)

Hi everyone -- we concluded the speed round of Foreman Fest yesterday! You can see the stories written in the community memories. Thank you very much to everyone who participated!

Posting can now begin for the speed round. You have one month from today to write and post your stories!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. As always, the prompts post remains open for people who still want to make claims.

All right, guys! Here are the rules for the speed round again:
  • To claim a prompt, please comment with the number and the actual prompt itself (just copy and paste it).
  • Once a prompt has been claimed, it will be crossed off the list.
  • Only one claim at a time per person, because the round is only a month long. If you write one and then want to write more, you can definitely do so before the end of the fest (and we will love you forever for it).
  • Stories should be at least 1000 words (and finished, not WIPs). They should be spellchecked. We recommend getting a beta reader.
  • If a prompt specifies a pairing, the story should have that pairing. If a prompt specifies gen, the story should be gen. If the prompt doesn't specify either, you can do whatever you want with it!
  • Posting starts on August 25 and runs until September 25.
As always, if you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask. Thanks again, and happy claiming!

Reminder: the speed round of Foreman Fest will start tomorrow when a new prompts post goes up. At that time, ALL unfinished prompts will be up for grabs!

OKAY, YOU GUYS! [livejournal.com profile] earlwyn and I have decreed that the month between the release of the season three DVDs and the season four premiere would be a grand time for a Foreman Fest Speed Round (or, for Wilson fans, a SPEEEEED Round). Because nobody starts their stories until the week before they're due, anyway!

It's going to work basically the same as the last round. We'll make a new post with the list of prompts. You claim 'em; we cross 'em off. The list will remain open until the fest is over. Stories should be at least 1000 words (and finished, not WIPs). We're not going to be hardasses, but we would all appreciate it if the stories were in by the deadline.

There will be a couple of changes:
  • We won't be collecting new prompts at this time, because we still have a LOT left from the last round. (That doesn't mean we won't collect more in the future!)
  • Only one claim at a time per person, because the round is only a month long. If you write one and then want to write more, you can definitely do so before the end of the fest (and we will love you forever for it).
  • You will proofread and spellcheck your stories! The list of beta readers is still up, too. Speed Round is no excuse for sloppiness.
  • Since we're so close to the beginning of season four, be sure to warn for spoilers if your story has any.
THE SCHEDULE:

August 21 - PROMPTS POST GOES UP, CLAIMS OPEN (and season 3 DVDs drop)
August 25 - POSTING STARTS
September 25 - ROUND TWO CLOSES (and season 4 premieres!)

I said before that any claims which aren't completed and posted by the start of Round 2 will be thrown back into the pool. This means that on August 21, if you haven't finished your claims from the last round, you sacrifice those prompts and somebody else can claim them and write them. (You can try to re-claim them yourself, but there's no guarantee that you'll actually get them.) So if you're still working on something from Round 1, now would be a really good time to finish it! (Note to self ...)

Hey everyone! This (several days late, meep) post concludes the first ever Foreman Fest! Thank you so much to everyone who participated in any way, and especially to my co-mod, [livejournal.com profile] earlwyn, who rocks.

There was enough interest in doing a second round of this fest, so we're going to do that after a short break, to let everyone recover and finish their other fic commitments. More details on that will be forthcoming in the next few weeks.

I know several of us still have outstanding claims/stories to post (including, um, me) so please feel free to take this hiatus to complete and post them. Any claims that haven't been completed by the time we start Round 2 will be thrown back into the pool so other people can use them.

[livejournal.com profile] nighthawkms asked about reserving prompts for the next round. We're not going to mark off any prompts as "reserved" at this time (because we are lazy, folks, sorry! *g*), but if there are prompts you wanted to claim this round but didn't and you feel inspired to work on them, you should absolutely do so! What we'll do is this: when we start Round 2 and post the new list of prompts, people who participated in this round and completed their stories will get first dibs.

As always, feel free to comment or e-mail me with any questions or issues you might have. Thanks again!

Hey, guys. It looks like there are a lot of us who want/need an extension, and the two-weekers are winning the poll, so let's go ahead and extend the deadline to July 15. If you can get your story or stories in before then, that would be terrific.

Also, if for any reason you feel that you're not going to be able to complete your claims, you can let me know in a comment and we'll put the prompt back for the next round.

Thanks!

Hi everyone! This is just a quick reminder that stories for [livejournal.com profile] foreman_fest are due on or before June 30. That's two weeks from today. Thank you to everyone who has posted so far!

Also, if you're in need of a beta reader (and we encourage everyone to have their story looked over by a beta before posting), you can check out the list of volunteers here.

Thanks, guys!

Just in case any of you were wondering --

The community is open to post fic when ever you are finished. Posting stops June 30th (though no one will track you down and hound you if you wind up being a little late).

Have fun, guys. :) Can't wait to see what you come up with.
[identity profile] earlwyn.livejournal.com

There are still nearly two months before fics are due but some of you may be finished. Or close to finishing. Or like me, still sitting there staring blankly at a clean word document muttering to yourself. "What was I thinking?" So if you're feeling rather bored with yourself and want to help your fellow festers or like me and can't write anything and would prefer to read something instead, we've decided to compile a Master Beta List of all of you out there who wouldn't mind giving a once-over for future fics.

We will continually update this list with interested and goodly people, and keep it here for future reference. If you would like to help, please commet here your name, an email address, which genre (slash, het, gen) of fic you are most comfortable with, which ratings (G - NC-17) you are all right with reading, and any specific comments you'd like anyone to know. For example, my info would look like thus:

Name: [personal profile] earlwyn
Email: padfootwolfboy [at] gmail [dot] com
Genre: slash, het, gen
Rating: G - R
Comments: I'll beta even at the last moment if need be.

Questions? Comments? Interested?

Guys. Seriously. There are 267 prompts for this thing. You are all amazing, and this is going to be such a great fest!

Here are the rules again:
  • To claim a prompt, please comment with the number and the actual prompt itself (just copy and paste it).
  • You may claim as many prompts as you like, but we recommend no more than three to start with, so more people can play.
  • Once a prompt has been claimed, it will be crossed off the list.
  • The prompt/claims list will remain open indefinitely so if you finish writing your original claims, you can come back and pick up more! Because you are awesome and you love Foreman as much as we do!
  • Stories should be at least 1000 words and posted by June 30 -- but those are both pretty flexible.
  • If a prompt specifies a pairing, the story should have that pairing. If a prompt specifies gen, the story should be gen. If the prompt doesn't specify either, you can do whatever you want with it!
As always, if you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask. Thanks again, and happy claiming!Masterlist behind the cut! Have fun! )

Hi folks -- this is just to let you know that the prompts post will remain open until tonight at midnight EST, so if you have any you'd like to add, you can still do so.

There will be a brand new post tomorrow with all the prompts, numbered and in some sort of semblance of order, so people can make claims. I'm going to make that post at noon EST, to try and accommodate as many time zones as possible. Claims will not start until tomorrow.

Thanks, everyone!

This is the prompt collection post for [livejournal.com profile] foreman_fest.

1. Anyone can submit prompts, whether you plan to write or not.

2. You can submit as many prompts as you like (in as many comments as you like) and they can be as broad or as narrow as you like. Because we're easy.

3. Anything is game: slash, het, gen, crossovers, AUs, crack!fic -- there are no limits! The only rule is that Foreman needs to be the prominent character.

Examples:

Foreman/Cameron - "We're not friends. We're colleagues."
Foreman/Chase - polo
Gen - Foreman and Wilson go golfing and have an awesome time
AU - Foreman and Cuddy are ninjas in space
Foreman's thoughts on Chase/Cameron - WTF is up with that, anyway?
Years ago, Foreman went to Hogwarts. Foreman/Draco plz!

This post will remain open for prompts until midnight EST, April 20! Then we'll collect them and list them in a separate post for claims.

The prompts collection phase is now OVER! Stay tuned for the masterlist and claims post, which will go live tomorrow at NOON EST.
